Old Soles Girl's 8058 Salty Ground Casual Shoes - Light Pink / Sporco / Sporco Sole

I was really excited to try these shoes for my 2.5 year old’s first year of preschool! Love the barefoot concept and they’re clearly well-made, but they’ve caused blisters on my kiddo’s feet each time she’s worn them. My kids are really active, but we’ve never had this problem with shoes before. The footbed is incredibly deep so that the shoe comes up high on my daughter’s heels, which wouldn’t necessarily be a problem except the back of the shoe is stiff and digs in at just the wrong place. One shoe has a small knot of canvas at the back of the heel so is especially uncomfortable. We followed the sizing chart and there’s plenty of space in the front, so size doesn’t seem to be the issue. We’ll try adding insoles and thicker socks to see if that helps, but it feels silly to spend extra effort when her $9 Target kicks fit with no issues. We’re pretty disappointed but live & learn!
